Specific Instrument in Shinedown's "Call Me"...?

I'm practicing FL Studio by recreating songs, so I chose this one to try. I'm trying to find a specific instrument used for beat, but without any luck. It's first heard in the first chorus and onward. The only way I can describe it is that it reminds me of the sound of someone flipping a coin. Can anyone identify this instrument?
